For Immediate Release:
“The Tokyo Monster Show” I was 6 years old when my father took me to see my
first Godzilla movie, Japanese monster movies started when Inoshiro Honda directed the original film “Godzilla” in 1954 giving birth to a new genre of films. From this film came many new monsters starring in their own movies. Creatures like Rodan, Mothra, Gidorah, Gamara, Gigan, Megalon, Mechagodzilla, and heroes like Ultra man. Watching these movies, you could always look forward to seeing things like giant monsters smashing tanks and swatting helicopters out of the sky. Laser beams and tentacles. Little Japanese school girls screaming and pointing in the air. Tokyo burning. People running in fear. Scientists in lab coats pondering they’re dilemma. Monsters fighting monsters. And Raymond Burr. Where else could you see all of these things? The Shooting Gallery is excited to pay tribute to Godzilla and his
friends with “The Tokyo Monster Show”. Over 30 artists will take part
in this homage to Japanese monster movies. Paintings, photography, sculpture
and drawings will all be on display for everyone to enjoy. Never has
there been such a gathering of creatures since “Monster Island”, when
Godzilla proved he was The King of All Monsters. “The
