An Interview with Pedro Matos (Citrus Report)
“When I was a kid (10 or 11) I got into a lot of “underground” cultures like skateboarding, graffiti, hip hop, punk, etc. Everything was very connected and things were hard to find and learn about, it made everything so special and precious.”
- Pedro Matos
Citrus Report features a great interview with Pedro Matos’ whose first solo show in SF recently opened at Shooting Gallery. The show, entitled Ephemera, is a collection of large oil painting portraits along with an arrangement of smaller works installed on one wall. Both Pedro’s skill and creativity are highly impressive and in his interview with Citrus Report he answers questions on how his life experience has shaped his work, the many stages of his creative process and the complexities of the acceptance of street arts into the “high-brow” art community.
