“Time Machine” by Samuel Lowder (Arrested Motion)

Last Saturday was the opening of Time Machine, New Works by Samuel Lowder. We had a pleasure having everyone join us for the opening over wine, good people and delightfully mesmerizing pop art pieces.

Our friends at Arrested Motion posted some great photos covering the event, bringing attention to the fun details and retro-cinematic feel of the pieces. We agree- it’s the little details that makes the bigger picture stand out.

We’re showing through June 2nd, 2024 – so definitely pay us a visit to see all the hidden layers in these colorful, eye-popping pieces for yourself!

As an early teen, a friend of mine showed me  E.C. comics, underground comics of the 60′s, and contemporary alternative comic artists such as Daniel Clowes and Jim Woodring. This really sparked my imagination and broadened my view of the world. After seeing the Helter Skelter show in 1992 at the MOCA in Los Angeles, which included Robert Williams and Raymond Pettibon, it was all over, my mind was corrupted and I had no choice but to make art. -Paul Chatem,
