Creating The Perfect Game Room For Artists of All Types

Creating The Perfect Game Room For Artists of All Types

Whether your home is large or small or whether you have a basement or not, a game room can be established. Simply use the amount of footage you have wisely. Begin with a couple of game tables and arcade games to fit into your spacial area. Game tables, at the most, need about 3 to 5 feet of space around them. Game rooms help to bring families together and all ages can participate.

Setting up a game room for all budget types is easy. There are a few simple steps that can be followed to have people feel comfortable in using your game room. A television set is one of the critical elements in creating a game room, especially during sport seasons. A television should be set up high, like on a wall or a tall mounted stand so that everyone has a clear view of the screen. Some people prefer a projector instead of a TV, but that’s really only a good idea if you’re setting up the room as a home movie room as well.

Deck the walls with some cool art to give it a personal touch. If you can graffiti or paint, then you can just paint directly on the walls. Or, you can look for posters or other artwork that you enjoy for the room.

Game rooms are an exciting time for everyone, but there should be some form of soundproofing. Homeowners can invest in adding sound-proof insulation panels, for both the walls and floors. Sound-proof panels are also designed so that they are thick enough to feel comfortable under your feet and helps to muffle the excitable sounds of the game participants from other rooms in the home.

Typical games that fit seamlessly into a game room and which can be fitted in a game room at 2 or 3 games at a time includes a mini air hockey tables and arcade games. Air hockey table games must be plugged in, therefore place them near an outlet so that extension cords are not needed and that people are not stepping over them. Another popular game for your game room is the arcade game – Pac-Man that has many new fun features.

Depending on the type of sports games you enjoy consider an electronic basketball game which provides plenty of friendly competitive action. This type of home game is a little physical, so plan for extra arm room. Arcade games are narrow and tall that can fit simply into small spaces.

Another action-packed game which doesn’t require a lot of space is a billiard table or table top tennis game. One to four players can play using paddles, a net, a cue stick, and ping-pong balls.

Factor in extra space when using your cue sticks because you need elbow space when playing close to other players. For the home game room, there are card table top games in shapes that include rectangular, vertical, round and octagon shape.

To keep your home game room a lot of fun, choose multi-game tables as the perfect choice. Multi-game tables can work in all size rooms and holds several different games in a flip top table or a rotational table or a convertible table top.

Convertible tables give players the ability to convert one style into another, for example, a billiard game can become a ping pong game. Flip top table games has two games - one on either side.

More games can be played with flip top tables and they contain a locking mechanism to keep the table from accidentally flipping over and to keep them level. Rotational multi game tables include more than two games. Each rotating piece features a different table game like pool, air hockey, foosball, and billiard.

Best Arcade Games Of All Time - Our Picks

Best Arcade Games Of All Time – Our Picks

Arcade games have enjoyed popularity for a long time by providing fun, action, and high scores. For many people they have become a favorite nostalgic memory whether it’s feeding quarters into the pinball machine or the indoor basketball arcade game. There are fighting games, sports games, shooting games, strategy games, and racing games to provide thrills for the players. The best arcade games of all times, in our opinion, are listed below. See if you agree with us!

Turtles in Time starring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released one year after the hit movie in 1991. Four friends were in control of Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo. Different levels took players from way back in the past to the farthest reaches of the future. The graphics were amazing and the game incredibly responsive. Players could fight with enemies and smash right through their ranks.

There was a time when being the best at Super Street Fighter made you the hotshot of the entire arcade. This game had a major impact on future fighting games and players had their choice of sixteen different characters. This game was also responsible for the introduction of the super combo and meters moves and will live on forever in the history of arcades.

The X-Men Arcade allows six friends to become Dazzler, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Storm, Wolverine, and Cyclops. This is a fast paced game with gorgeous graphics and an excellent representation for the X-Men. The music is amazing and all the great fighters are there including Mystique, Pyro, and Magneto. Although this is an extremely difficult game to play it offers a lot of fun for those willing to give it a try.

Donkey Kong was an incredibly difficult game to play and high scores took their place in arcade history. This was the definition of a platform game and ruled the arcades in the 1980’s and the beginning of the 1990’s. The design was a representation of pop culture with super hammers, rolling barrels, and steel beams. From the day it was released Donkey Kong was destined to become a classic.

Ultimate Mortal Combat gave players the ability to really duke it out. The large crowd forming around the games fight is waiting for a fatality. The third game in the series changed game play and turned the series into a legend. The graphics were stunning, the animations were intense, the play improved beyond all recognition, and it became a tournament capable of hosting eight players. Brutalities, friendships and fatalities were also added.

Die Hard Arcade was supposed to be based on the movie although the similarities were rare. The lead character has a female partner and they fight through a barrage of strange enemies including spider robots and deranged firefighters. The game play is innovative and solid with players having the ability to pick up nearly anything to use as a weapon. This wacky game has players attacking with everything from hairspray to guns to brooms. The actions is fresh and a lot of fun.

Dance Dance Revolution offered top of the line audio and graphics and offered game play based on rhythm. This game brought the life back to the arcade with a control scheme that was fresh and intriguing. The songs the players danced to made them strive for perfection and included many unknown songs. The release of the game trigged numerous new games of the same genre as the arcades continued to dance.

What To Look For In A Graphics Tablet

What To Look For In A Graphics Tablet

Any graphics artist worth their salt nowadays needs a graphics tablet. That way you can do work both at home and on the go. Thus expanding your ability to be more productive and to be able to show your work off to people you meet while you are out.

With so much choice on the market, it can be a little intimidating when it comes to finding the right graphics tablet for your budget and your needs.

There are a few things you can look for, though, that will help guarantee you ultimately end up with the perfect tablet at the perfect price.

The most important thing to decide before you make a purchase is the best tablet size that will work for you. Graphics tablets come in a variety of sizes, with the price increasing as the tablet size gets bigger.

The common sizes at the moment are 4″ by 5″, 6″ by 8″, and 9″ by 12″. The medium one will generally give you the work space you need while still fitting comfortably into a laptop bag.

Remember, though, the larger the tablet is the further you have to move your arms across its surface as you draw. When working on an intricate project that can quickly become exhausting, so a smaller tablet may well work better for you.

A solid, well-designed pen is also necessary if your graphics tablet is going to be able to produce the quality of work you need. Look for a tablet with a pen that does not need a heavy battery as that can make it more difficult to use for a prolonged period of time.

Having an attached pen instead of a battery operated one is also sometimes preferable simply because that makes the pen less easy to lose.

Pens that have an eraser are also vital if you want to make correcting your work just as easy as drawing it.

When it comes to pressure sensitivity, choosing the right level can make or break your graphic art career.

That is because a graphics tablet that allows higher levels of pressure sensitivity will allow you to draw many more varieties of line thickness throughout all your artwork, as well as improve the depth of color you can achieve.

Pressure sensitivity can be found in 512, 1024, or 2025. The middle of the range is usually the most useful, especially as you will only need the higher level for extremely intricate work you may not do often.

Price point is important as well, especially if you plan on making a living with your graphics tablet, as the higher the price the more features it will have.

Be honest with yourself about what you truly need, though, and do not splurge on a $2,000 dollar tablet when one priced at $200 will do the same job.

Choosing a graphics tablet with a micro-USB jack is also generally more useful than buying one with a bulky cable wired into it. Remember you will probably be carrying the tablet around with you and the added weight and bulk of a wired-in cable will quickly become annoying.

Price should also be a consideration, particularly if this will be your first graphics tablet.

In most cases, you can easily start out with a small tablet at around $100 and then upgrade at a later date if you know you will be using it a lot.
