Interview with Aron Meynell (Culture Wire)

Check out Aron Meynell‘s interview with Culture Wire, an SFGovTv Production for the SF Arts Commission. Aron speaks about his show at Shooting Gallery, entitled ‘…Sleep…’, which just opened this Saturday alongside C3′s show ‘Tempest Horizon.‘  At one point Meynell explains that any of the charcoal drawings could be erased with the wipe of a hand, a fact that makes each one seem like a delicate image frozen in time, protected from the world in simple frames.

The interview for Hi Fructose includes everything from his upbringing in Oklahoma to drawing inspiration from antique photographs and David Lynch films. Below are some photos and excerpts from the interview…

We’re moving closer to Saturday’s openings- both C3′s Before the Sun Dies, Part 1. ‘Tempest Horizon’ and Aron Meynell’s ‘…Sleep…’ will be at Shooting Gallery with the openings that began at 7pm. The shows have separate themes, with distinct styles but also have a visual aesthetic that binds them together. We don’t want to give too much away but couldn’t keep all the details to ourselves. Make sure you stop by this weekend to see the finished exhibits!
